Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance

Gavi, officially Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance¹⁾ is a public–private global health partnership with the goal of increasing access to immunization in poor countries.²⁾

The organization was founded by Bill Gates through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Gavi was founded by its original name, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations, in 1999, and launched in 2000.³⁾ It was formed as a successor to the Children’s Vaccine Initiative, which was itself founded following the World Summit for Children held in New York in September 1990.⁴⁾ United States President Bill Clinton announced a $50 million investment into the Global Fund for Children's Vaccines “to support GAVI's work.” Early board members included Carol Bellamy, then-Executive Director of UNICEF.⁵⁾

Gavi's core partners are the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Bank, and UNICEF.⁶⁾

In 2020, the Rockefeller Foundation committed $5 million to Gavi.⁸⁾

As a founding partner of Gavi, the Gates Foundation has brought international attention to the cause of immunisation and has made several commitments to Gavi, totalling USD 4.1 billion to-date. In 2000, the foundation made an initial USD 750 million commitment to the Vaccine Fund, which was catalytic in bringing other donors to support vaccine delivery and creating Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

In February 2007, the foundation committed USD 50 million to launch the first AMC to expedite the development and availability of pneumococcal vaccines. In June 2011, the Gates Foundation committed over USD 1 billion to Gavi over the period 2011-2015; of this commitment, USD 50 million was reserved for the Gavi Matching Fund. An additional, USD 250 million of challenge grant moneys were pledged to match additional funds raised earlier by other donors.

In June 2014 the Gates Foundation committed an additional USD 241 million to Gavi towards its complementary role on polio eradication including support for IPV over the period 2015-2018. This is complementing GPEI’s work on strengthening routine immunisation and introducing inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) in Gavi-supported countries.

At the Berlin Pledging Conference 2015, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced USD 1.55 billion for Gavi’s next 2016-2025 strategic period.

At the 2020 Global Vaccine Summit, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced USD 1.6 billion for Gavi’s next 2021-2025 strategic period. In addition to this funding, the Foundation pledged USD 150 million in support of Gavi’s COVAX AMC to ensure equitable access to vaccines for AMC-eligible economies. ⁹⁾

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation made the announcement on January 27, 2015 at the Gavi Replenishment Conference in Berlin, hosted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. A press release from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation said U.S $7.5 billion was made in pledges, “the largest-ever financial commitment to support childhood immunization,” (http://www.gatesfoundation.org/Media-Center/Press-Releases/2015/01/GAVI-Replenishment-Conference).

This funding will help Gavi “reach an additional 300 million children with vaccines by 2020.” Funds for vaccines could save up to seven million lives by protecting children from such diseases as pneumonia, measles and severe diarrhea. ¹⁰⁾

Dr Geert Vanden Bossche is an independent virologist and vaccine expert who was formerly employed at GAVI and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. His professional qualification and statement should end all social media censorship of all posts expressing legitimate ideas of concern towards mass COVID19 vaccination.

This week he wrote an open letter appealing to “all authorities, scientists and experts around the world, to whom this concerns: the entire world population” to immediately halt mass COVID19 vaccination, claiming there is compelling evidence that the mass rollout will dramatically worsen the consequences of the pandemic.

Conclusion… If we, human beings, are committed to perpetuating our species, we have no choice left but to eradicate these highly infectious viral variants. This will, indeed, require large vaccination campaigns. However, NK cell-based vaccines will primarily enable our natural immunity to be better prepared (memory!) and to induce herd immunity (which is exactly the opposite of what current Covid-19 vaccines do as those increasingly turn vaccine recipients into asymptomatic carriers who are shedding virus).

So, there is not one second left for gears to be switched and to replace the current killer vaccines by life-saving vaccines. I am appealing to the WHO and all stakeholders involved, no mater their convicton, to immediately declare such action as THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY OF INTERNATIONAL CONCERN. According to Stuckelberger, Switzerland is at the heart of the corruption, largely thanks to it being the headquarters for GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, founded by Bill Gates. In 2009, the GAVI Alliance was recognized as an international institution and granted total blanket immunity.6

As explained by Justus Hoffmann, Ph.D., one of the German Corona Extra-Parliamentary Inquiry Committee members, GAVI has “qualified diplomatic immunity,” which is odd, considering the organization has no political power that would warrant diplomatic immunity. Odder still is that GAVI’s immunity clauses go beyond even that of diplomats. GAVI’s immunity covers all aspects of engagement, including criminal business dealings.

GAVI is a nongovernmental organization that is allowed to operate without paying any taxes, while also having total immunity for anything they do wrong.

“They can do whatever they want,” Stuckelberger says, without repercussions. The police, for example, are barred from conducting an investigation and collecting evidence if GAVI were to be implicated in a criminal investigation. “It’s shocking,” she says. GAVI is also completely tax exempt, which Stuckelberger notes is “very strange.”

Essentially, GAVI is a nongovernmental organization (NGO) that is allowed to operate without paying any taxes, while also having total immunity for anything they do wrong, willfully or otherwise. This is rather unprecedented, and raises a whole host of questions. It’s particularly disturbing in light of evidence Stuckelberger claims to have found showing that GAVI is “directing, as a corporate entity, the WHO.”

Furthermore, documents cited by Stuckelberger show the WHO has assumed what amounts to dictatorial power over the whole world. The director general has the sole power to make decisions — including decisions about which tests or pandemic medications to use — that all member states must then obey. ¹³⁾

Serum Institute of India (SII) on Friday said it has signed a deal with the international vaccine alliance Gavi and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to accelerate the manufacturing and delivery of up to 100 million does of Covid-19 vaccines for India and other low-income countries.

Serum Institute of India said the vaccines will be prices at a maximum $3 per dose and will be made available in 92 countries that are included in Gavi’s COVAX Advance Market Commitment (AMC). The Adar Poonawalla -led company had earlier joined hands with AstraZeneca and Novavax to develop their Covid vaccines. The same $3 per dose price applies in case of these deals as well.

Last week the Gavi Board agreed on the final list of 92 countries that will be supported by the AMC. Under the new collaboration, AstraZeneca’s candidate vaccine, if successful, will be available to 57 Gavi-eligible countries.
