Naguib Kheraj

Kheraj is a Muslim and a member of the Ismaili community. He was born in London, but grew up in east Africa, Switzerland, Pakistan and the Middle East.1)

Career

Salomon Brothers

Kheraj began his career at Salomon Brothers in 1986 and went on to hold a number of senior positions at leading international financial institutions.2)

Barclays

Kheraj joined Barclays in 1998, where he served as Group Finance Director and Vice-Chairman and in various business leadership positions over the course of the following 12 years.3)

JP Morgan Cazenove

He was Chief Executive Officer of JP Morgan Cazenove, a London-based investment banking business.4)

Standard Chartered

Kheraj worked at Standard Chartered as Deputy Chairman and Chair of the Risk and Audit Committees.5)

National Health Service

In June 15, 2012, Kheraj was appointed as a non-executive director on the NHS Commissioning Board of National Health Service (NHS).6)

Wellcome Trust

In January 2019, Kheraj joined the board of directors for Wellcome Trust.7)

Rothesay

Kheraj is Chairman of Rothesay, a specialist pensions insurer.

Affiliations

Aga Khan Development Network

Kheraj spends a substantial proportion of his time as a Senior Advisor to the Aga Khan Development Network and serves on the boards of various entities, including Aga Khan University and the University of Central Asia, as well as chairing its Endowment Committee.8)

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance

Kheraj is a member of the board of directors for Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.9)

Oxford University Press

Kheraj is a member of the Finance Committee of Oxford University Press.10)

UK-US Fulbright Commission

Kheraj formerly served on the board of the UK-US Fulbright Commission.

University of Cambridge

Kheraj is on the Finance Committee of the University of Cambridge.
