University Hospital Foundation

University Hospital Foundation is a Canadian charitable organization based in Edmonton, Alberta.

UHF was created in 1962 by an act of the Alberta legislature.¹⁾

At the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) International Convention on June 4, 2019, the UHF announced the formation of three public-private philanthropic partnerships totalling nearly $8 million aimed at investigating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) using machine learning, diabetes and obesity, and health data analysis in the areas of oncology, gastroenterology, neuroscience and rare diseases.²⁾ Partners in the ventures include BIOTECanada, Novo Nordisk, Boehringer Ingelheim and Takeda.

UHF raises funds for the University of Alberta Hospital, Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and the Kaye Edmonton Clinic.³⁾
