EnHS Graduate Receives $4.6 Million Grant from Defense Threat Reduction Agency

University of Minnesota School of Public Health - by Joy Archibald - June 29, 2015

Andrew Huff, a graduate of the Division of Environmental Health Sciences, is the investigator on a $4.6 million grant awarded to EcoHealth Alliance from DTRA Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

Huff is a senior research scientist at EcoHealth Alliance, a nonprofit organization that focuses on conservation and global health issues.

The grant was awarded to continue the development of the Global Rapid Identification Tool System GRITS, a software program that is designed to monitor early-warning signals from a possible emerging infectious disease outbreak. The software is being developed in partnership with ProMED and the International Society for Infectious Disease.

Climate change, land use change, and urbanization are all potential factors that contribute to the risk of diseases like Ebola, MERS, and other zoonotic pathogens. Environmental change to the global landscape increases the risk of disease emergence.

GRITS analyzes textual data sources by identifying, extracting, and visualizing critical public health information and suggesting possible associated infectious diseases. The multitude of news, social media, and existing biosurveillance systems makes it is increasingly difficult to digest all of the available information to monitor possible disease threats. GRITS enables infectious disease analysts to examine dynamic visualizations of historical disease emergence events and monitor new patterns that could point to new infectious disease outbreaks.

“GRITS is an open source technology that is going to change how ‘One Health’ disease surveillance is conducted into the foreseeable future,” says Huff. 7)

Understanding farmers’ biosecurity beliefs and behaviours related to antimicrobial resistant bacteria in Michigan, USA Jessica D. Garcia A , Andrew G. Huff B C and Emily S. Huff D E + Author Affiliations

Animal Production Science 60(5) 674-682 https://doi.org/10.1071/AN18765 Submitted: 29 June 2018 Accepted: 9 July 2019 Published: 7 February 2020 Abstract

=== Context === Antimicrobial resistant bacteria (AMRB) are transmitted from animals to humans and vice versa through many pathways, and AMRB has been an issue on farms and in food production systems.

=== Aims === The aim of this exploratory study was to understand what preventative measures farmers may or may not be using to decrease human and animal exposure to AMRB in Central Michigan, and develop a set of measures for biosecurity behaviours.

=== Methods === Participants selected for the study were involved in commercial animal husbandry in central Michigan. Data from farmers were collected via a mixed methods approach. Semistructured interviews and a structured questionnaire were administered, based on the theory of planned behaviour. Data were analysed using Spearman’s rank correlation and thematic analyses.

=== Key results === There were no associations between sex, level of education or personal income with biosecurity beliefs or behaviours. There was a positive correlation between farm revenue and the presence of pests in animal holding areas, and how often farmers quarantine new animals before adding them to their herd or flock. The farmers interviewed had increased perceived control over implementing biosecurity measures that are perceived as simple and fast to implement.

=== Conclusions === Generally, the farmers believed they could affect AMRB on their farms, but were not always engaging in biosecurity behaviours.

Implications: Understanding farmers’ perceptions and beliefs of biosecurity practices may help develop efficient and effective outreach, education and extension services.

Additional keywords: perception, livestock, theory of planned behaviour, values. 8)

About the Book - The Truth About Wuhan

Shocking new insider information that shows what really happened in Wuhan, China, at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak and in the ensuing cover-up.

The day that Dr. Andrew G. Huff left his senior scientist and vice president role at EcoHealth Alliance was one of the happiest days of his life due to the corruption he had witnessed at the organization. However, he never thought working there would be of any great consequence to the future. He was wrong. Because, as an EcoHealth Alliance insider, Dr. Huff had had a ringside seat to one of the biggest cover-ups in history.

The Truth about Wuhan contains new research and a breakdown of how and why the development of COVID-19 in the United States and China was supported by the US government to collect intelligence on laboratories in China. Dr. Huff, an expert in the fields of bioterrorism and bio warfare, is a whistleblower who will show why the reasons the lab leak was covered up are incorrect.

He worked on the classified research side of the program as a US government scientist. He knows the real how and why COVID-19 emerged. Besides exposing the conspiracy and cover-up, Dr. Huff also puts forth policy solutions and recommendations to prevent a lab leak virus from plaguing the world again.

The Truth about Wuhan simply explains the complexity of the system that led to COVID-19’s emergence; how the medical industrial complex grew and became entrenched in gain of function work after 9/11; why EcoHealth Alliance was the (almost) perfect intelligence collection cover; the policy actions and decision-making process as to why the United States government engaged in the COVID cover-up; how and why the United States swapped biotechnology with China and biomedical corporations; and the incentives for each of the actors or governments to engage and coordinate a global cover-up of COVID-19 origins.

The Truth about Wuhan also shows how and why Dr. Anthony Fauci is intricately involved in the COVID cover-up; how scientists like EcoHealth Alliance president and CEO Dr. Peter Daszak rose to power and used their influence to corrupt science and the COVID origin investigation; and how the intelligence community likely orchestrated the cover-up with Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Dr. Huff also provides personal harrowing accounts of how the US government waged a psychological operation against him to prevent him from speaking out. COVID-19 is the biggest lie, scandal, and intelligence failure in US history, and Dr. Andrew G. Huff is stepping out of the shadows to share his insider story about this failure that led to millions of deaths around the world. 9)

EcoHealth Alliance Statement Regarding Book by Andrew Huff

RE: Publication of Andrew Huff’s The Truth About Wuhan

December 5, 2022

Andrew Huff, a former employee of the EcoHealth Alliance, has published a book entitled The Truth About Wuhan: How I Uncovered the Biggest Lie in History. According to press reports, Mr Huff claims that the COVID-19 pandemic was the result of a lab leak from research conducted by the Wuhan Institute of Virology in collaboration with EcoHealth Alliance.

Mr. Huff is entitled to his own opinions, but not to his own facts. The actual “truth about Wuhan” is:

1) Mr. Huff was employed by the EcoHealth Alliance from 2014 to 2016. However, reports that he worked at or with the Wuhan Institute of Virology during that time are untrue. He was assigned to a completely different project working on computer-based algorithms to assess emerging disease threats.

2) Mr. Huff alleges that EcoHealth Alliance was engaged in gain of function research to create SARS-CoV-2. This is not true.

3) Mr. Huff makes a number of other speculations and allegations about the nature of the collaboration between EcoHealth Alliance and the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Given that he never worked at or with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, his assertions along these lines cannot be trusted.

4) Mr. Huff claims that SARS-CoV-2 emerged as a lab leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology based on research conducted there on bat coronaviruses and, further, that this research was related to U.S. intelligence gathering efforts. This is not true.

Dr. Francis Collins, then Director of the U. S. National Institutes of Health issued the following statement on October 20, 2021: “NIH wants to set the record straight on NIH-supported research to understand naturally occurring bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, funded through a subaward from NIH grantee EcoHealth Alliance. Analysis of published genomic data and other documents from the grantee demonstrate that the naturally occurring bat coronaviruses studied under the NIH grant are genetically far distant from SARS-CoV-2 and could not possibly have caused the COVID-19 pandemic. Any claims to the contrary are demonstrably false.

The scientific evidence to date indicates that the virus is likely the result of viral evolution in nature, potentially jumping directly to humans or through an unidentified intermediary animal host. Historically, many viruses have emerged from animals to cause epidemics and pandemics, including influenza, Ebola, Zika, West Nile fever, SARS, and more. Importantly, after an intensive investigation, agencies in the U.S Intelligence Community agreed that the virus was not developed as a biological weapon and most agencies assessed that SARS-CoV-2 most likely was not genetically engineered.” https://www.nih.gov/about-nih/who-we-are/nih-director/statements/statement-misinformation-about-sars-cov-2-origins

5) Mr. Huff argues that the origin of COVID-19 is definitely due to a lab leak, yet he provides no scientific evidence to support his case. To the contrary, the emerging consensus, based on peer-reviewed scientific evidence, is that COVID-19 originated through zoonotic spillover. Substantial published scientific evidence indicates that COVID-19 originated via a similar pathway to SARS, involving a spillover from bats to intermediate animal hosts, then to people within the wildlife trade, leading to the first known cluster in the Huanan Seafood Market in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

The hypothesis that SARS-COV-2 was created in a laboratory is now widely considered less probable than emergence via the wildlife trade. A recent report by the Independent Task Force on COVID-19 and Other Pandemic Origins, Prevention, and Response, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, reviews the considerable peer-reviewed literature and concludes that the preponderance of the evidence is most consistent with COVID-19’s origin as a zoonotic infection within the wildlife trade. While a lab leak cannot be absolutely ruled out, the Independent Task Force found no verifiable and credible evidence or scientific data to support this interpretation. 10)

Movie of the Week Whistleblower Target Fable

Interview Critique

Andrew the l33t h4x0r has an intruder break in to delete a pic on his laptop as Andrew is installing a surveillance camera outside. Unlike every hyper paranoid whistleblower who anticipates retaliation. Hard to decide what's worse Huff's InfoSec or his OpSec but both rot. FBI cyber teams have spent months trying to crack passwords on laptops alleged to be used for unauthorized access of data. All that aside, if FBI wants a laptop they get FISA court to rubber stamp a warrant and they empty your house just like they did with Trump at Mara Lago ffs.

This is chock full of PBS talking points to advance a bouquet of narratives.

Likening himself to Julian Assange is beyond the pale of hangnail hysterid outrageously adding “I couldn't believe it was happening. I felt like a bad dream. I had the Julian Assange treatment, but I hadn't done anything illegal. His remarks about sources and whistleblowers are all wrong and negative for Julian who is a publisher whose only crime is truth.

Huff goes on to claim hacking is now only done by FBI who spent many million tailing him. Long before Snowden, when genuine whistleblower Thomas Drake exposed NSA domestic spying he was charged under 1917 Espionage Act. Drake got some of the worst FBI harassment among group of DC whistleblowers. Almost two years of FBI parked outside his house every lunch hour while he was bankrupted with legal fees, forced to work in an Apple store & his life was destroyed by process. 12)

Andrew Huff's Harrowing Ordeal In His Own Words

(small selection of gems & it's a small world quote from Andrew Huff's atty Thomas Renz) Andrew Huff: Wuhan whistleblower claims FBI spied on him with drones and broke into home to silence him

'My one-and-a-half-year-old son was anxious, frightened, and neurotic at the height of the illegal harassment,' Andrew Huff said in his book

December 6, 2022 Media Entertainment Arts WorldWide By Srinija Grandhi

Dr Huff, a specialist on bioterrorism and biowarfare, claimed that “the government hacked his computer,” which caused a months-long delay in publishing his book on Wuhan. He told The Sun, “It was crazy… I couldn't believe it was happening. I felt like a bad dream. I had the Julian Assange treatment, but I hadn't done anything illegal.

To put it bluntly, I have balls of steel, and I'm not afraid of these people.” He added, “I can tell you the US government agencies involved were the FBI, the Defence Intelligence Agency, and the Department of Homeland Security. All the sources of the hacking went back to the Department of Defence. I used to work on teams who developed this kind of technology… then I became the target.”

Dr Huff stated that every day, military-grade drones allegedly showed up at his house, he was stalked in the grocery store and all around the nation, and unidentified vehicles frequently followed him. He claimed that his home was broken into, that his phone had been routinely hacked, and that someone had even shot a bullet into his mailbox, as per the news outlet. Huff alleges that he witnessed a horrific incident in which a man broke into his home and attempted to erase a photo on his computer as he was outside installing a security camera. He told The Sun, “I used to have top security clearance. The government typically doesn't go after the person who receives a leak. They go after the person who leaks the information. The type of thing they did to me, I've heard of the government doing that to people who leak information. That's not shocking or surprising - but they never do it to the person who receives the information.”

The scientist estimates that a team of 20 to 30 persons running the “spying” operation would have cost the government up to $50 million over the course of more than a year. Huff claimed that he reported more than fifty federal offenses against him; however, he claims that the FBI declined to look into these claims because they were “complicit in the crimes.” The scientist penned in his book, “Their goal was to discredit me, to scare me, and to prevent me from speaking out.” He added, “I collected piles of cold, hard evidence of the crimes committed against me by the US government, including photographic evidence of trespassers and highly sophisticated drones being flown at distances of a few feet from my house caught on camouflaged motion activated trail cameras.”

In his book, Dr Huff lists a number of occurrences that are part of a temporary restraining order and injunction that his attorney, Thomas Renz, is drafting against the US government and Michigan police. 13)
