Bethune Medical Development Association of Canada
The Bethune Medical Development Association of Canada is a Canadian non-profit organization based in Toronto, Ontario.
It was established by a group of Canadian medical professionals with a mission of promoting and facilitating international cooperation in medical research, education, patient care, humanitarian activities and cultural exchanges.

History
In May 2012, BMDAC then-Secretary-General Dr. David Dai had a dinner meeting with Mari Teitelbaum, director of BORN Ontario, Dr. Shi Wu Wen and Mark Walker, Senior Scientists & Professors at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute/University of Ottawa, Stephen Chan, CEO of Dapasoft, and Mr. Michael Lonsway, President of Dapasoft. The possibility of helping China set up their own version of BORN was discussed.4)
COVID-19
On February 24, 2020, several representatives of the BMDAC appeared at an event at the University of Toronto's Dalla Lana School of Public Health with signage reading “Combat Against Covid-19 in the World”.5) Those in attendance included Isaac Bogoch, Allison McGeer, Xiaolin Wei and Mingyao Liu.6)
On September 19, 2022, BMDAC held an online meeting with Fosun Health to discuss “potential cooperation in medical exchanges.” Participants include Lulu Mi, Trade Commissioner (Life Sciences) at the Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai, and Wu Dan, Deputy General Manager of International Cooperation at Fosun Health.7)
