The hospital has experienced a significant increase in demand for emergency care, with the rate of patients arriving by ambulance nearly doubling between February and August 2022.1)

Funding
TBRHSC raises funds through the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.
In 2021/2022, the TBRHSC received $27.1 million in additional COVID-19-related funding from the Government of Ontario, allowing the hospital to finish the fiscal year with a $5.8 million surplus.2)
