Susan Smith

Susan Smith is a Canadian public servant based in Edmonton, Alberta. She is notable during the COVID-19 pandemic due to her role in approving COVID-19 vaccines in Canada.

Career and Affiliations

Her roles have included front line generalist practice, nurse consultant, and clinical development nurse (immunization and communicable disease control). Her experience includes providing immunizations, orienting/educating staff and clients on immunization and communicable disease issues, ensuring quality of immunization programs, and following up on notifiable diseases providing her with a strong clinical and operational background in public health immunization programs.

Smith is the Manager for Immunization Policy for Alberta Health Services.

Public Health Agency of Canada

Smith is a member of the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI).1)
