Public Health Training for Equitable Systems Change

The Public Health Training for Equitable Systems Change (PHTESC) is a Canadian training program hosted at the University of Toronto. It was founded in 2018 with a $1 million grant from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.1)

The program is “comprised of eight organizations who aim to improve professional skills in health equity, population health assessment and effective public health practice.”

The member groups are the Alliance for Healthier Communities, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health (NCCDH), National Collaborating Centre for Health Public Policy (NCCHPP), National Collaborating Centre for Methods and Tools (NCCMT), Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA), Public Health Ontario, and the Wellesley Institute.
