Nathan Stall

Dr. Nathan M. Stall, MD, PhD( c ), FRCPC is a Canadian geriatrician based in Toronto, Ontario.

Education

Stall received his medical degree from University of Western Ontario and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Toronto.

During his time working on the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table, he was completing a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology & Health Care Research at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) under the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.

Career and Affiliations

Sinai Health System

Stall has been a Staff Geriatrician at Sinai Health System since 2017, and attends on the inpatient Geriatric Medicine Consultation Service and on the Internal Medicine Clinical Teaching Units at Mount Sinai Hospital. The interconnected nature of the Sinai system and the University Health Network has also led him to practice at those locations.

Toronto Metropolitan University

Stall is an associate fellow of the National Institute on Ageing at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University).1) 2)

Women's College Hospital

Stall has been a research fellow at Women‘s College Research Institute at Women’s College Hospital since 2016.3)

Canadian Medical Association

Stall is an associate editor of the Canadian Medical Association Journal.4)

Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table

Stall served as an Assistant Scientific Director on the secretariat of the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table.5) He resigned from the OST in August 2021 to avoid the perception of a conflict of interest due to his role as the 2022 Ontario Liberal Party candidate for Toronto-St. Paul’s.6) He had previously intended to stay and continue to provide guidance with support from the OST leadership.

ICES

Stall is affiliated with the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES).7)

COVID-19 Immunity Task Force

Stall has received funding from the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force, and has moderated events for the group.8) 9)

19 to Zero

Stall produced an “educational video” on COVID-19 vaccines for 19 to Zero.10)

CanCOVID

Stall is a CanCOVID Network Science Advisor.11)

Ontario Liberal Party

Stall is the 2022 Ontario Liberal Party candidate for Toronto-St.Paul's in the upcoming provincial election.12)

Research

Funding

Stall has received research funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Diabetes Action Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the International Long-Term Care Policy Network (ILPN), and the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science.13) 14)

He also received funding from the University of Toronto for a special COVID-19 research opportunity.15)

Media

In July 2021, Stall said, “I absolutely think we should make COVID-19 vaccines mandatory in health care — I think it's a no brainer.”16)
