Julie Powell

Julie Powell was an American writer who became famous for spending a year cooking every recipe in Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking“. She died on October 26, 2022 of a cardiac arrest at the age of 49.

On October 1, 2021, Powell tweeted, “I would argue that COVID does kill some of the right people. The anti-vaxxers/maskers are dying in legions.”

As of June 2022, Powell had received three doses of COVID-19 vaccines.¹⁾

During September 2022, Powell's husband reported coming down with COVID-19 twice, with Powell falling ill at least once.^{2) 3) 4)}

On October 25, 2022, she tweeted, “So I woke up with something that's literally Black Hairy Tongue. People, including my doctor, seem to think it's no big deal, and will go away soon, but it certainly is gross.”⁵⁾ She died of cardiac arrest the following day, with some speculating she died as a result of either COVID-19 or her multiple doses of COVID-19 vaccines.⁶⁾
