ID2020
Identity2020 Systems, Inc. (known as the ID2020 Alliance or simply ID2020) is an American non-governmental organization based in New York City, New York.1)
History
On August 10, 2015, Dr. Alicia Carmona published a blog post on LinkedIn seeking input from her colleagues with “examples from [their] field, institutional, or personal experiences where identification/identity is at the core of a community problem.”2) It was reposted on ID2020's website nine days later.3)

A slidedeck exists for ID2020 dated September 14, 2015, describing ID2020's uses for organizations like UNICEF, the International Rescue Committee and Cambodian Children's Fund.5)
The inaugural ID2020 summit took place at the United Nations headquarters in New York City on May 20, 2016.6) The topic of the summit was “how to provide a unique digital identity to everyone on the planet, including the 1.5 billion people living without any form of recognized identification.”7)
The 2018 summit was held in September 2018, and focused on defining what constitutes a “good” digital ID. Sponsors for the event included the United Nations Office of Information Communications Technology (OICT), United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), International Telecommunication Union and the Consulate General of Denmark in New York.8)
