Global Vaccine Action Plan
The Global Vaccine Action Plan is a policy framework developed by the Decade of Vaccines Collaboration and officially endorsed at the 65th World Health Assembly in May 2012.1) Its stated intention is to “prevent millions of deaths by 2020 through more equitable access to existing vaccines for people in all communities.”

History
The GVAP was endorsed by the 194 Member States of the World Health Assembly in May 2012, and published on the World Health Organization's website in February 2013.
Contributors
Developed by the members of the Decade of Vaccines Collaboration, the GVAP cites the leadership of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, UNICEF, the United States National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the World Health Organization as being vital to accomplishing the ambitious goals described in the publication.
