British Columbia’s Office of the Human Rights Commissioner is a Canadian government administration body based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The current Human Rights Commission for the Province of British Columbia is Kasari Govender, who began her five-year term on September 3, 2019.1)
History
COVID-19
On November 5, 2020, Human Rights Commissioner Kasari Govender published a guidance document titled “A human rights approach to mask-wearing during the COVID-19 pandemic.” This document was “updated over time to reflect changing circumstances,” with revised versions published on November 23 and December 10, 2020, and April 23, July 22 and September 29, 2021.2)
