Dougan has authored several studies related to COVID-19 vaccines, particularly in regards to their safety in pregnancy and for young children.

- Lead author is Deshayne Fell, a liaison representative for the Canadian Association for Immunization Research, Evaluation and Education (CAIRE) on the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI), responsible for approving COVID-19 vaccines in Canada.1)
- Funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) through the Vaccine Surveillance Reference Group and the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force2)
