Baert holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and an MSc in Population Medicine (Epidemiology) from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph.
U of G has received significant funding from many corporate sponsors with an interest in the COVID-19 pandemic, including Bayer, BMO Financial Group, CIBC, IBM, IDEXX Laboratories, Intel, Loblaws, Nestlé, PepsiCo, RBC Foundation, Scotiabank, Syngenta, TD Bank Group, TELUS, Walmart, and Zoetis.1)
Specifically, Zoetis (the animal health division of Pfizer) provided a $130,000 research grant to the Ontario Veterinary College in 2016 to study how veterinarians cope with job stresses.2)

Baert is a member of the Secretariat of the the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table, where she acts as a Senior Research Associate.3)
University of Guelph
In January 2022, Baert began working at the University of Guelph as a clinical veterinarian in animal care services.4)
