Rob Reid

Robert J. Reid is a Canadian healthcare delivery specialist based in Toronto, Ontario.

Reid became a Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Alberta upon graduation in 1986. He then completed a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology in 1993, a General Preventative Medicine & Public Health residency in 1995 and a PhD in Philosophy in Health Policy and Management in 1998, all at Johns Hopkins University.¹⁾

Reid is known for his work at the Group Health Research Institute at the Group Health Cooperative, now Kaiser Permanente, in Seattle, Washington, which integrated and streamlined team-based care to improve quality, patient experience and yield cost savings.²⁾

He remains an Affiliate Investigator at the Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute.³⁾

Reid is a research scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES).⁴⁾

Reid is the inaugural Hazel McCallion Research Chair in Learning Health Systems and Chief Scientist at the Institute for Better Health (IBH) and Senior Vice President of Science at Trillium Health Partners (THP).⁵⁾

Reid is an affiliate associate professor at the University of Washington’s School of Public Health and Community Medicine.⁶⁾

Reid is a professor at the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster University.⁹⁾

Reid is currently providing leadership and expertise in the re-design of Ontario’s health care system through the newly introduced Ontario Health Teams initiative, under the Ontario Ministry of Health.¹⁰⁾

Reid is co-chair of the Evidence Synthesis Network alongside Anne Hayes.¹¹⁾

Reid has published research funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) under the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).^{12) 13)}
