Pharmacovigilance

Pharmacovigilance is the field of study of adverse effects and related problems associated with drugs.

Disproportionality Analysis

Disproportionality analysis is a method for detecting adverse drug reactions (ADRs) of a type in proportion to other types, and seeing if this proportion is out of line with results from other drugs. There are varying opinions on the use of disproportionality analysis, but it is primarily used as a tool for where to look for problems, but not a tool on its own for determining the harms of any particular drug or medicine.
