Max Tegmark

Max Erik Tegmark is a Swedish-American physicist, cosmologist and machine learning researcher based in Massachusetts.

History

Tegmark was elected Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2012 for, according to the citation, “his contributions to cosmology, including precision measurements from cosmic microwave background and galaxy clustering data, tests of inflation and gravitation theories, and the development of a new technology for low-frequency radio interferometry”.1)

In early 2020, Tegmark founded Improve the News (ITN).2) He published as study called Machine-learning media bias in August 2022.3)

Activities

Tegmark has acted as an advisor to the Singularity Institute for Artificial Intelligence and a member of the Institute for Advanced Study.4)

Tegmark endorses Longview Philanthropy.5) He is an expert contributor to PopShift on the topic of “Future of Tech & Morality”.6)
