Martin Lavoie

Dr. Martin Lavoie is a Canadian public health official based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Career and Affiliations

Public Health Agency of Canada

Lavoie is a liaison representative for the Council of Chief Medical Officers of Health on the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI), the body responsible for recommending the approval of COVID-19 vaccines in Canada.1)

Fraser Health Authority

Lavoie worked for the Fraser Health Authority from August 2017 to July 2020. He started as the Executive Medical Director/Medical Officer of Health, then moved to Interim VP of Population Health and Chief Medical Officer of Health, then fully taking that position.2) 3)

Government of British Columbia

Lavoie is a Deputy Provincial Health Officer for the Government of British Columbia, serving under Dr. Bonnie Henry at the BC Ministry of Health.4) He began in this position in July 2020.5)
