Martin Betts

Dr. Martin Betts, MD, FRCPC is a Canadian internal medicine specialist based in Toronto, Ontario.

Betts was employed as a team leader at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) from 1998-1999.

Betts is Chief of the Department of Critical Care and Medical Director of the Critical Care Program at the Scarborough Health Network.¹⁾

Additionally, he is Medical Director and practicing physician in critical care at the Scarborough Hospital.

Betts is employed by Critical Care Services Ontario.²⁾

Betts is a lecturer in the Interdepartmental Division of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Toronto.³⁾

Betts is a member of the Drugs & Biologics Clinical Practice Guidelines Working Group of the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table (OST).⁴⁾

Betts is a paid consultant for Teleflex, a specialty medical device company.⁵⁾

Betts received a travel grant (paid to his institution) from ZOLL for a symposium on therapeutic hypothermia in 2020.⁶⁾

Betts received payment from Pfizer for chairing a discussion on management of delirium.⁷⁾

He also acted as a study coordinator for AnorMED from 2002-2004. AnorMED was later bought by Genzyme.⁸⁾
