Mark Staz
Mark Staz, MA is a Canadian-American medical regulator based in Carrollton, Texas.
History
Education
Staz attended McMaster University from 2000-2004 for his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and York University from 2004-2005 for his Master's and 2006-2014 for his PhD in Philosophy.1)
Career
Staz is Director of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB). He also supports the FSMB’s international collaborations with medical regulators outside of the United States, including its involvement with the International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities, which it also funds and with which it shares an office.
Staz has worked in medical regulation in Canada as a policy analyst for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and has been involved in several policy and research initiatives addressing health human resources, social determinants of health, and physician performance enhancement.2)
He is also a member of the board of directors for the Coalition for Physician Enhancement (CPE).3)
