Dr. Kathryn M. Edwards, MD is an American pediatric infectious diseases specialist based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Career and Affiliations

Vanderbilt University

Edwards is a professor of pediatrics in the division of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where she is also vice-chair for clinical research.1)

Pfizer

In September 2020, a CBS News article revealed that Edwards was a member of the Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) for Pfizer's BNT162 COVID-19 vaccine trial.2)

Research

Edwards has received research funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and IBM.3)

Pharmaceutical Companies

Edwards has worked as a paid advisor for Pfizer, and has also received payments, speaking fees, or funding from numerous pharmaceutical companies, including Moderna, Merck, X-4 Pharma, Bionet, Seqirus, Roche, and Smith-Kline Beecham, and travel benefits from Sanofi.4) 5)
