Isaac Bogoch

Dr. Isaac Bogoch, MD, SM is a Canadian infectious diseases specialist based in Toronto, Ontario.

Education

Bogoch completed medical school and Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Toronto, and then specialized in Infectious Diseases at Harvard University. He holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and has completed fellowships in both Tropical Infectious Diseases and HIV care.

Toronto General Hospital

Bogoch is an infectious diseases consultant at Toronto General Hospital with a focus on tropical diseases, HIV, and general infectious diseases.2)

Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table

Bogoch is a member of the Modelling Consensus Table of the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table.3)

Consulting

Bogoch was hired by the NHL Players' Association to review their COVID-19 safety protocols.4)

He also received consulting fees from BlueDot, the Canadian artificial intelligence company that claimed responsibility for being first in the world to detect the initial spread of SARS-CoV-2 in Wuhan, China in December 2020. Indeed, Bogoch is the lead author on a study titled “Pneumonia of unknown aetiology in Wuhan, China: potential for international spread via commercial air travel” with the BlueDot team.5) The study was submitted to the Journal of Travel Medicine on January 8, 2020, revised January 9, and accepted January 10.

Research

COVID-19

Bogoch received grant funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to “study the global spread of COVID-19”.6)
