Hamilton Community Foundation

The Hamilton Community Foundation is closely associated with McMaster University, with several members of the Board of Directors actively employed by the University.1) Those members are Dr. Maroussia Ahmed and Shylo Elmayan. Also on the Board and the Foundation’s advisors are employees of CIBC (Sarah Murphy) and BMO Financial Group.2)

Funding

The Foundation has received $42,782.00 in funding from the United Nations through their Culture of Peace fund, and $276,476 from United Way via Kenneth R. Walsh. Another United Way source of funding is $2,007,104.00 through the United Way Tomorrow & Forever Fund.

McMaster University provided in-kind donations in 2020/2021, and cash donations in prior years including 2019/2020. Additional funding has come from St. Joseph’s Health System.3)
