The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is an American domestic law enforcement agency based in Washington, D.C.

History

On July 26, 2006, then-director Robert Mueller established the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate (WMDD).1)

On May 24, 2023, the FBI co-published a report titled “People's Republic of China State-Sponsored Cyber Actor Living off the Land to Evade Detection” describing the actions of Volt Typhoon, co-published with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the National Security Agency (NSA), the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC), the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS), the New Zealand National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC-NZ) and the United Kingdom National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC-UK).2)
