Charu Kaushic

Dr. Charu Kaushic is a Canadian medical researcher.

She is Chair of the Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness (GloPID-R), Scientific Director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Institute of Infection and Immunity (III), Professor in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine in McMaster University, and a member of the Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAR) Steering Committee.1)

History

COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kaushic was “closely involved in shaping CIHR’s research response” and served on the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force.

On October 18, 2021, Kaushic delivered a presentation to Cochrane on the subject of pandemic preparedness and her work with the Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness (GloPID-R).2)
