Sandy Hook school shooting defamation case

Jones was accused of defamation for allegedly lying to his Infowars audience about the events of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The plaintiffs - parents of several of the children killed in the incident - allege that Jones “lied and attacked the parents of murdered children” while describing the shooting as a hoax.2) He was further accused of failing to respond to court orders and turn over documents, leading to courts in Texas and Connecticut to issue default judgements against him, suspending his right to a jury trial.3)
