Timothy Caulfield
Education
Caulfield has received honorary degrees from Simon Fraser University and the University of Calgary.
Career
Early career
From 1988-1990, Caulfield worked as a legal researcher at the University of Alberta's Health Law Institute.1) He then moved to work at law firm Bryan & Company as a “student-at-law”, and then lawyer, until 1992.
University of Alberta
In 1996, Caulfield was made an Assistant Professor in U of A's Faculty of Law, then added a position as Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry in 1999. In 2004, he became a Professor in the Faculty of Law and at the School of Public Health, a position he holds to this day. He is Research Director of the Health Law Institute.2) 3) He became a Tier II Canada Research Chair in Health Law and Policy in 2002, and then Tier I in 2016.4)
Television
In 2016, Caulfield began working with Peacock Alley Entertainment as co-producer and host of the television show, “A User’s Guide to Cheating Death”.
Affiliations
Caulfield is a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation.5) He sits on the Ethics Committee for the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).6)
