In 2011, Armstrong was elected as a Fellow to the Royal Society of Canada.³⁾

Armstrong is Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of the Sociology at York University.⁴⁾ She is the principal investigator for the school’s Re-imagining Long-Term Care project.⁵⁾
