Marcia Johnson

Dr. Marcia Johnson, MD is a Canadian public health official based in Edmonton, Alberta.

Career

Johnson is the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health for Alberta Health Services under Deena Hinshaw.1)

She formerly served as Deputy Medical Officer of Health for the Capital Health Authority.2) She has also worked as a clinical professor at the University of Alberta.3)

COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Johnson served as a representative for the Office of the Medical Officer of Health on the AHS COVID-19 Scientific Advisory Group. In this role, she contributed to an October 2021 publication asserting that COVID-19 vaccines prevent transmission is most cases.4)
