Marcia Johnson

Dr. Marcia Johnson, MD is a Canadian public health official based in Edmonton, Alberta.

Johnson is the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health for Alberta Health Services under Deena Hinshaw.¹⁾

She formerly served as Deputy Medical Officer of Health for the Capital Health Authority.²⁾ She has also worked as a clinical professor at the University of Alberta.³⁾

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Johnson served as a representative for the Office of the Medical Officer of Health on the AHS COVID-19 Scientific Advisory Group. In this role, she contributed to an October 2021 publication asserting that COVID-19 vaccines prevent transmission is most cases.⁴⁾
