Gab.com is a free speech, social media platform. Gab saw an influx of users staring in January 2021, precipitated by Twitter's removal of President Donald J. Trump's Twitter account. Numerous Trump supporters flocked to Parler. In a matter oft weeks, Amazon Web Service shut down Parler. The President's followers looked for alternatives. Gab was one such social media site.

Gab was founded by Andrew Torba. Torba states “Gab is a First Amendment company which means we tolerate 'offensive' but legal speech. We believe that a moderation policy which adheres to the First Amendment, thereby permitting offensive content to rise to the surface, is a valuable and necessary utility to society… Supporting the mission of freedom online means having the stomach to accept that people will say “edgy and offensive” things.”

Gab is a social network that champions free speech, individual liberty and the free flow of information online. Gab Social launched August 15, 2016 and is a fresh take on one of the Internet's most popular applications: social networking and microblogging. Political speech protected by the First Amendment is welcome on this instance. Gab Social allows free (legal) speech, following legal guidelines as established by the U.S. Supreme Court.

We are a younger company that is building a site without reliance on third parties for our services. Gab respects our valued customers and values the principles of Free Speech. We have a free social media service that we provide for all to use legally. Our vision for paid Gab Pro subscription services is that you contribute not only to Gab, but to enable Free Speech for people around the world whose liberties and freedoms may not match those in the United States. Gab is a grass-roots company. We exist and pay our operational costs with Gab Pro subscriptions, donations and sales from the Gab Shop. Gab has no Big Tech money backers, angel investors or advertisers who may bring censorship influences to Gab and it's customers.
