Mel Rothenburger is a Canadian writer and politician based in Kamloops, British Columbia. He is the former mayor of Kamloops as well as former editor of the city's local paper, The Daily News.1)
In September 2022, Rothenburger wrote that “we all know COVID hasn’t gone away but during this past summer it’s almost seemed like it.”2) He criticized health authorities' treatment of masking as a “personal or family choice”, and expressed hope that Provincial Health Officer Bonnie Henry would “ramp up mandates again if needed.”
