| === Hack === |
| |
| GiveSendGo stored private information in an unsecured Amazon S3 bucket((https://techcrunch.com/2022/02/08/ottawa-trucker-freedom-convoy-exposed-donation/)). The bucket contained 50 gigabytes of passports and driver's licenses of users on the platform. Many supporters of the convoy fundraiser had their names, e-mails postal codes, and other information leaked. Journalists reached out to supporters for comment. ((https://twitter.com/esaagar/status/1494008623407800326)) Initially, there was no effort by twitter to prevent the leaked private information from disseminating. ((https://www.foxnews.com/media/twitter-hacked-material-canadian-freedom-convoy-donors-hunter-biden-laptop)) In addition to the protestors, supporters themselves were [[divisive_rhetoric_about_the_unvaccinated|vilified]] and Dean Blundell directly linked to the list of supporters.((https://thepostmillennial.com/snitch-journalist-gleefully-doxxes-donors-to-canadian-freedom-protesters)) The location data of supporters was also built into an interactive map.
