Liam Sturgess

William Chamberlain Sturgess is a Canadian musical artist, producer and audio engineer based in Vancouver, British Columbia.1) His work has been featured on several mainstream media outlets including CTV Television Network, the Georgia Straight, and North Shore News.2) 3) 4) 5)

He was given the Kind Heart Award by City of North Vancouver Mayor Linda Buchanan in the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic.6) 7)

Sturgess became active as a writer and editor for content related to COVID-19 in 2021 after joining the Canadian Covid Care Alliance. He is an informal liaison between Operation Uplift and the CCCA.

Education

Sturgess attended the University of British Columbia for one year, before transferring to Capilano University.

Affiliations

Sturgess is affiliated with several organizations engaged in the COVID-19 crisis.

Canadian Covid Care Alliance

Sturgess is a volunteer member of the Canadian Covid Care Alliance. He has performed several leadership and support roles for the organization including briefly serving as Chair of the External Communications Committee, sitting on the Steering Committee, website management, and numerous writing and editing projects.

He has also assisted Dr. Bonnie Mallard in preparing expert testimony documents for several legal challenges against vaccine mandates, including in the case of a patient represented by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms being denied a double lung transplant for declining a COVID-19 injection.8) 9)

He is currently working with the group's Government Relations, External Communications, Science and Medical Advisory, and Round Table Coordinating Committees on a variety of initiatives.

COVID-19

When the COVID-19 pandemic was declared in March 2020, Sturgess was attending the Nimbus School of Recording and Media studying Advanced Audio Engineering and Studio Production.

Discussing local governments' actions in the first wave of shutdowns resulting in the widespread cancellation of artistic and youth events, Sturgess noted “even though the world was drastically changing, we [can] still take a moment to be thankful for our successes and joys from the past while we prepare for the uncertain future.”10)

Sturgess has filed human rights complaints against Elections Canada and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as well as a formal complaint against French language broadcaster Noovo.11)
