Human Rights Campaign

Human Rights Campaign is an American lobbying organization based in Washington, D.C. It advocates for gender and sexual equality, same-sex marriage, anti-discrimination and hate crimes legislation, and HIV/AIDS issues.

The organization was actively involved in electing President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris to office in the 2020.1)

History

2020 U.S. Presidential Election

In May 2020, HRC endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden in the 2020 United States presidential election.2) The organization engaged in a widespread “Get out the vote” campaign to increase voter registration and turnout in-person and through mail-in voting. These efforts included stationing “HRC ground troops” in critical battleground states to support non-heterosexual candidates, acting as poll workers and other volunteer positions.3)
