Fell is a liaison representative for the Canadian Association for Immunization Research, Evaluation and Education (CAIRE) on the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI), responsible for approving COVID-19 vaccines in Canada.6)
Research
Fell's research uses large, linked population databases and registries to improve our understanding of factors affecting maternal and infant population health. Her specific focus includes infection and immunization during pregnancy and their relationship with birth outcomes and longer-term pediatric health outcomes, including safety and effectiveness of maternal immunization.
Funding
Fell has conducted research with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation,7) 8) including as a Principal Investigator. At least one of these studies was also funded and/or coordinated by PATH and the WHO Initiative for Vaccine Research, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).9)
