Maajid Nawaz, LBC, London

Maajid Nawaz is British born of Pakistani parents. Having experienced radicalisation, and then managing to de-radicalise, he set up the controversial anti-extremism think tank Quilliam in 2007. It was closed down in 2021 after running into financial difficulties.1)

He joined LBC as a presenter in September, 2016. His contract was due to expire in April, 2022, but he was dismissed In January, 2022 after a number of tweets pointing out the safety issues with the Covid-19 'vaccinations'.2) The most interesting point about this article from the Press Gazette is the 15 or so pages of comments, the bulk of which are highly supportive of Nawaz, and some are distinctly angry at his stance against the jabs being equated to that of Katie Hopkins. She was also removed from LBC after calling for a genocide after the 2017 Manchester arena bombing.3)

Five weeks after his dismissal, Nawaz appeared on the Joe Rogan podcast.4) Here's a short clip, in which he puts forward the idea that the times we are living in now are not dissimilar to the birth of the printing press, which also led to a significant upheaval in global power structures, and a strong backlash from those wishing to hold onto power;
