Centre for Drug Research and Development

The Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD) was a Canadian drug development centre based in Vancouver, British Columbia. It merged with Montreal's NEOMED Institute and Vancouver's Accel-Rx and now operates as adMare BioInnovations.1)

Pieter Cullis served as founding director of the CDRD.2)

Affiliations

Pfizer contributed $1 million towards the creation of the Executive Institute of the CDRD Academy, a training program for executive-level life science professionals.3) The Executive Institute now operates under the adMare Academy.4)

Around 2012, GlaxoSmithKline was collaborating with the CDRD to help advance development and commercialization of medical research.5)

The CDRD also has a financial interest in AstraZeneca.

Startups

The CDRD contributed to the launching of many companies, including Kairos Therapeutics, Sitka Biopharma and Zucara Therapeutics.6)
