ProPublica

ProPublica, or Pro Publica, Inc is an American non-profit news organization based in New York City, New York.

History

On February 28, 2022, Building a Stronger Future announced a $5 million grant to ProPublica to “support reporting on biosecurity and pandemic preparedness.”1) The three-year grant was intended to “support investigations into ongoing questions about the COVID-19 pandemic, biosecurity and public health preparedness.”

On December 20, ProPublica announced that it was returning the initial $1.6 million it had received “and that it has terminated its relationship with the Building a Stronger Future foundation following allegations of fraudulent activities against Sam Bankman-Fried.”2)

The Chair of ProPublica's Board of Directors, Paul Sagan, is also a director at Moderna. He bought shares in Moderna shortly before a huge surge in value associated with a COVID-19 vaccine announcement.3)
