Jerry Dias is a Canadian union executive based in Toronto, Ontario. He served as the president of Unifor, the largest private-sector union in Canada, between August 2013 and March 2022.
On March 13, 2022, Dias suddenly announced his retirement from Unifor due to unspecific health reasons.1) Within a week, it was revealed that Dias had received $50,000 from an unspecified supplier of COVID-19 rapid tests which he was requiring Unifor employees to use.2)
On April 4, the Toronto Police Service stated that its financial crimes unit had opened an investigation into the matter.3)
