Deborah Cook

Dr. Deborah J. Cook, MD, FRCPC, MSc (Epid), DABIM is a Canadian clinician-researcher based in Hamilton, Ontario.

Cook is a professor in the Departments of Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics at McMaster University.¹⁾ She is also the Academic Chair of Critical Care Medicine.

Cook is a founding member and past chair of the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group (CCCTG).²⁾

Cook practices critical care medicine at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.³⁾

Cook is a member of the Clinical Advances through Research and Information Translation (CLARITY) research group.⁴⁾

Cook formerly served as a member of the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table.⁵⁾

Cook is the Canada Research Chair in Research Transfer in ICU.⁶⁾

In April 2022, Cook was a co-recipient of the 2022 Canada Gairdner Award. The other recipients were Stuart Orkin, John Dick, Drew Weissman, Pieter Cullis, Katalin Karikó, and Zulfiqar Bhutta.⁷⁾
