A letter in the January 2022 Lancet, written by Carlos Franco-Paredes of the Division of Infectious Diseases, University of Colorado, bears the title 'Transmissibility of SARS-CoV-2 among fully vaccinated individuals' states that studies “have conclusively demonstrated the benefit of COVID-19 vaccines in reducing individual symptomatic and severe disease, resulting in reduced hospitalisations and intensive care unit admissions”. However, he pulls together several studies showing that, in terms of the transmissibility of Covid-19, there appears to be little difference between vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.3)
