Smith has over thirty years of Public Health experience primarily focused on [[public health]] programs, immunization, and communicable disease control.

Her roles have included front line generalist practice, nurse consultant, and clinical development nurse (immunization and communicable disease control). Her experience includes providing immunizations, orienting/educating staff and clients on immunization and communicable disease issues, ensuring quality of immunization programs, and following up on notifiable diseases providing her with a strong clinical and operational background in [[public health]] immunization programs.
