**Operation Blackout** was a counter-terrorism exercise that took place on November 5, 2019 in [[united_states:Washington, D.C.]]

The "election hacking tabletop exercise" simulated sabotage of civilian infrastructure, [[terrorism]] and [[psychological operations]] against American citizens on the day of the [[2020 United States Presidential Election]].

The event was led by [[Cybereason]], a private cybersecurity company.
