The **Children’s Vaccine Initiative (CVI)** was founded following the [[World Summit for Children]] held in [[united_states:New York]] in September 1990. 

CVI was sponsored by [[UNICEF]], the [[United Nations Development Programme]] (UNDP), [[World Health Organization]] (WHO), [[World Bank]], and the [[Rockefeller Foundation]].((Caddell, A.
