Rasmussen attended [[Cornell College]] from 2001-2005 for a joint Bachelor of Arts in politics and philosophy, where he was associated with [[Phi Beta Kappa]].((//Blake Rasmussen.// LinkedIn. From June-September 2007, Rasmussen worked as a communications assistant for the [[World Security Institute]]. He returned to Cornell College to work as Communications Director from December 2007-December 2009. In June 2010, he started working as Editor at the [[Community Impact Newspaper]], while acting as a mentor at the [[Austin Independent School District]].

He worked in marketing for [[Emerson Process Management]] from September 2012-April 2014, and then began working at [[Wizards of the Coast]] in May 2014. He worked his way up to his current position of Director of Communications.
